Manomet man who wanted loan repaid gets van smashed instead

Two Plymouth men were arrested on assault charges following a dispute over money, Tuesday night. According to Captain John Rogers, the incident started when the alleged victim, who had loaned one of the suspects some money, met with the pair on Old Sandwich Road. He expected, Rogers said, to learn when he’d finally be repaid. Instead Christopher Askin, 21, of Crabtree Road and Erik Dempsey, 20, of Stafford Street, reportedly threatened the alleged victim with a log and wrench, respectively. They then allegedly smashed the windows of the victim’s van, Rogers added. Continue Reading →

Break-in reported at Village General Store

Police are looking for two suspects in a suspected break-in at the Village General Store in Manomet. According to Lieutenant Dana Flynn, police were alerted by an alarm at about 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. The suspects got in by prying open the front door, he said. Manomet man charged with drunk driving following crash on State Road

A Manomet man was charged with drunk driving for the third time following a crash near a State Road gas station, Sunday night. According to Captain John Rogers, police responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident at the A-1 Prime gas station at around 10 p.m. They found a car that had hit the curb, suffering extensive front-end damage, he said. The driver, Donald Jefferson, 46 of Clearwater Drive was found walking away from the scene. He was picked up and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth after saying he hit his head. Collision on State Road leads to OUI arrest

Police arrested a South Plymouth man for drunk driving after he allegedly hit a van in Manomet, Saturday evening. According to Captain John Rogers, James Rogers, 57 of Crabtree Road was driving his black pickup truck north on State Road when he hit a van backing out of a driveway in the area of Ship Pond Road and State Roads. PSHS student allegedly threatens graduation

Police are investigating an alleged threat to graduation made by a Plymouth South High School student. According to Lieutenant Dana Flynn, the 16-year-old male threatened to “shoot up graduation.” It wasn’t clear which graduation he was referring to or how serious the threat was. Matthew Webb, 40, of Heather Drive was arrested for conspiracy to violate controlled substances laws, distribution of a class B substance and drug violation near a school or park. Three arrested in alleged oxycodone deal

Three people were arrested following an alleged oxycodone deal near Manomet Elementary School, Tuesday morning. According to Captain John Rogers, narcotics detectives were doing surveillance near Manomet Point Road and Old Colony Drive when they allegedly saw Jeffrey Kehoe, 33, of Old Colony Drive get into a car with two men in it that pulled up as he waited at the corner.  Police then, Rogers said, reportedly saw a drug transaction take place. Carver man arrested for OUI following hit and run on Long Pond Road

Police arrested a Carver man for allegedly driving drunk after finding him hiding in a home on Early Red Circle, Saturday afternoon. According to Captain John Rogers, Eric Beaton, 42, allegedly rear-ended a car that had slowed down for another car on Long Pond Road near Gunners Exchange Road. Cedarville man, 62, allegedly robs Manomet store, being held on $25,000 bail

A 62-year-old Cedarville man was arrested for allegedly robbing the Dollar Tree store in Manomet at gunpoint, late Thursday afternoon. According to John Rogers, Timothy Sheehan, wearing a hoodie and sunglasses, allegedly entered the store and demanded the contents of the store’s cash register. Alleged bank fraud scheme stopped at the Pinehills

A pair of Bridgeport, Connecticut men who had allegedly opened fraudulent bank accounts at several Massachusetts TD Bank branches saw their plan come to an end at the Pinehills, Thursday afternoon. According to Captain John Rogers, staff at the Pinehills branch had been alerted to the alleged scheme when Raul Samola, 36, reportedly tried to open an account at the branch. Brook Road man arrested for allegedly driving drunk downtown

A Manomet man was arrested for drunk driving early Thursday after being seen speeding on some narrow downtown roads. According to Captain John Rogers, an officer reportedly spotted Douglas Guertin, 34, of Brook Road speeding on Middle Street at around 1:30 a.m. He went down middle back up Leyden Street, turned left and then was finally stopped in the area of Warren Avenue and Sandwich Street. Cape Cod woman’s alleged possum play doesn’t fly with police

An East Falmouth woman was arrested Friday afternoon for drunk driving after allegedly claiming she was forced off the road by an animal. According to Lieutenant Dana Flynn, an officer found Celina Walker, 48, leaning against her car after she allegedly drove it into the woods near Gunners Exchange Road. Manomet man charged with misleading police after sending them on search

A Manomet man is under arrest after sending police on an early morning search in the Fresh Pond area for a woman who wasn’t missing. According to Captain John Rogers, EMTs responded to a report of a woman having a seizure at a home on Clearwater Drive at around 2 a.m. When they arrived, they were told by Anthony Violia, 25, of Delancy Drive, that she had recovered and taken herself to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth.
