Manomet Youth Center open during winter break

The Manomet Youth Center will be open for early drop-off from 7 to 11 a.m. during winter vacation next week. There is still time to register for early drop-off. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Registration is required. After 11 a.m., the MYC will be open to all members at no extra fee and there will be the normal $3 fee for guests. Wreath making workshop at the Wildlands Trust

The Wildland Trust is hosting a holiday wreath making workshop at its headquarters on Sunday, December 4 at 10 a.m.

In this workshop, led by local horticulturist Susanne Lucas, guests will make and take home a beautiful all-natural wreath for the holidays. Buy a Christmas Tree and support PSHS athletes

Holidays on the Green and the Reigndog Parade come to The Pinehills on December 3

The  Reindog Parade is back for another year of costumed canines and tail-wagging good times at this year’s Holidays on the Green at The Pinehills on Saturday, December 3,2016. Dogs from all over New England will be dressed in their best festive holiday apparel to participate in the parade. Special Guest Judge Lisa Donovan from KISS 108’s Matty in the Morning Show, and her chocolate lab will walk in the dog event that never disappoints. Manomet Christmas Tree lighting happens November 25, 2016

This year’s Manomet Christmas Tree Lighting will be at the Manomet Fire Station on November 25, 2016 at 6 p.m.

Parking will be in the St. Bonaventure back lot on fire station side. As usual,  a certain jolly old elf will lead the lighting, along with caroling by Troop 51 and seasonal goodies. Craft fair at the Moose Lodge

The Plymouth Moose Lodge is hosting a Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday November 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their lodge home, 601 State Street, in Manomet. Over 14 crafters will have their items for sale in the lodge function hall..  There will also be a table selling gently used books. Join the Wildlands Trust at White Horse Beach  for COASTSWEEP on October 29 from 9 a.m. to noon. COASTSWEEP is an annual state-wide beach cleanup and data collection effort organized by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management. This cleanup will also be part of the town-wide beach cleanup day in Plymouth. Volunteers will work in small teams to collect and record trash found on the shoreline. This data is then used to develop education and policy initiatives to help reduce marine debris. Continue Reading →

Girl Scouts open house at the Manomet Branch Library

Local Girl Scout troops will hold an open house for potential new members on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Manomet Branch of the Plymouth Public Library in Plymouth. Girls from kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to stop by and learn about the Girl Scouts. Moose Youth Awareness Program offers college scholarships

Plymouth Moose Lodge invites local high school students to be part of the Youth Awareness Program. The Moose Youth Awareness program is for High school students interested in public speaking and educating young children on a number of positive lifestyle topics ranging from bullying to drug and alcohol abuse. Eligible students could end up earning some of the $30,000 in scholarship money provided by the Moose.
