Local students named to Curry College Dean’s List

Meagan Beck, Christina Colarusso, Meghan Dillon, Emily Garcia, Susan Paul, Amanda Paul and Andrew Soell were named to the Curry College Dean’s List for the Fall 2017 semester. Lights of Hope celebrates its 7th season

Plymouth South Marketing students held their 7th annual Lights of Hope event Friday, December 1st at Plimoth Grist Mill and Brewster Gardens. Lights of Hope is a fundraiser for the Children’s Bereavement Program of Cranberry Hospice and all proceeds are donated to this important cause. This moving event was started by Jon Jaros in 2011 in memory of his grandmother. The students planned, organized, and promoted the community event, which successfully raised nearly $1000 for the program. Continue Reading →

Wreath making workshop this Saturday at the Wildlands Trust

Create, take, and donate this holiday season with Wildlands Trust. Horticulturist Susanne Lucas will lead a Holiday Wreath Making Workshop in the Community Conservation Barn this Saturday, December 2, at the Wildlands Trust Headquarters, 675 Long Pond Road,  teaching people how to make two beautiful, all-natural holiday wreaths. Build an edible terrarium at the Manomet Branch Library

Stop by the Manomet Branch Library, 12 Strand Ave., on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. to build an edible terrarium. Participants need to bring the container, small glass ones work best, other materials will be supplied. Materials will include chocolate rocks, chocolate muffins, matcha, graham crackers, and more.

Friends of Plymouth Pound receives grant from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation

The Friends of Plymouth Pound in Manomet was awarded $500 from the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation’s Community Spirit 9/11 Mini-Grant program. James McGovern, an employee of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, nominated the organization for the award. Funds will be used to purchase vaccinations, food and shelter for the rescue animals. Bring man’s (and woman’s) best friend to the 13th Annual Holidays on the Green at the Pinehills on December 2, as the ever-popular Reindog Parade is back for another year of costumed canines and tail-wagging good times. Dogs from all over New England will be dressed in their best holiday apparel to participate in the parade. Join this year’s Grand Marshall and Special Guest Judge Lisa Donovan from KISS 108’s Matty in the Morning Show, as she and her lovable chocolate lab will walk in the dog event that never disappoints. Holiday card making at the Wildlands Trust

Join botanical artist and Middleboro Conservation agent Tricia Cassady on November 19 at 12:30 p.m. for a holiday card making workshop at the Wildlands Trust Headquarters, 675 Long Pond Road. Gather inspiration from nature on a quick walk, then hunker down in the Community Conservation Barn and get busy painting and drawing. Moose Youth Awareness Program offers college scholarships

Plymouth Moose Lodge invites local high school students to be part of the Youth Awareness Program. The Moose Youth Awareness program is for High school students interested in public speaking and educating young children on a number of positive lifestyle topics ranging from bullying to drug and alcohol abuse. Eligible students could end up earning some of the $30,000 in scholarship money provided by the Moose. Open House at the Moose Lodge on September 16

The Plymouth Moose Lodge will start its 20th anniversary celebration by holding an Open House for the public on Saturday, September 16 from 9 a.m. until noon at their lodge home at 601 State Road in Manomet. The Open House will showcase the Plymouth Moose Lodge working hard to be the “Heart of the Community” by helping charitable and other non-profit organizations. The men and women of the Plymouth Moose fraternity will be available to offer tours of the building, as well as to answer questions about the fraternity, and the Lodge’s involvement in the local community.
