Moose Youth Awareness Program offers college scholarships

Plymouth Moose Lodge invites local high school students to be part of the Youth Awareness Program. The Moose Youth Awareness program is for High school students interested in public speaking and educating young children on a number of positive lifestyle topics ranging from bullying to drug and alcohol abuse. Eligible students could end up earning some of the $30,000 in scholarship money provided by the Moose. Open House at the Moose Lodge on September 16

The Plymouth Moose Lodge will start its 20th anniversary celebration by holding an Open House for the public on Saturday, September 16 from 9 a.m. until noon at their lodge home at 601 State Road in Manomet. The Open House will showcase the Plymouth Moose Lodge working hard to be the “Heart of the Community” by helping charitable and other non-profit organizations. The men and women of the Plymouth Moose fraternity will be available to offer tours of the building, as well as to answer questions about the fraternity, and the Lodge’s involvement in the local community. Wheaton College (Illinois) student Jayne Rinne of Plymouth, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Moose International honors Plymouth man at annual convention

Ralph “Woody” Whitman of Plymouth was awarded the Moose Fellowship Degree of Honor at the Moose International Annual Convention in Tampa, Florida. The Fellowship Degree is awarded to men who have demonstrated leadership ability by giving their time and effort to serve on various Moose committees and by being a loyal, enthusiastic and active member of their Lodge. The Fellowship Degree is the third of four degrees that Moose members are eligible for. Members of the Fellowship Degree are recognized throughout the Moose organization as fraternal leaders who have earned the respect of their fellow Moose members by service to others. Plymouth woman honored at Moose international Convention

Bernadette “Bernie” McDonnell of Plymouth was awarded the Women of the Moose “College of Regents” honor of excellence at the Moose International Annual Convention in Tampa, Florida 
 

McDonnell received entry into the Women of the Moose “College of Regents” for excellence during her term as Senior Regent at the Plymouth Chapter, Women of the Moose.  This degree of excellence is awarded only to those women who have led their Chapter to growth and prosperity.  She is a long-time member of the Women of the Moose in Plymouth, and has served in many officer and committee roles. Manomet Center makes headquarters more accesible

On June 8, Manomet Inc. cut the ribbon on improvements to its main office and banding lab in that will make them more accessible to those with mobility needs. The changes, which cost  $250,000,included an ADA accessible bathroom, an automatic front door, and new indoor and outdoor classrooms.

Six named to Curry College Dean’s List

Meagan Beck, Christina Colarusso, Jacqueline Donnelly, Desiree Galligan, Tara Masterson, Meghan Dillon and Amanda Paul were named to the Curry College Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.30 GPA, have no incompletes, and have no grade lower than a “C” for the semester.
