Audition for ‘The Odd Couple’

Priscilla Beach Theatre will hold auditions for “The Odd Couple” on Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 15, from 6-9 p.m. The Odd Couple, by Neil Simon, includes six men and two women, all roles are open and actors will receive a stipend. Reserve an audition time by calling 508-224-4888 or by email atinfo@pbtheatre.org. The Odd Couple, directed by Theresa Chiasson, will rehearse Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6-9 p.m., beginning August 17. Workshop registration open for ‘A Christmas Carol’ on restored barn stage

Registration is open for Priscilla Beach Theatre’s  two-week workshop of “A Christmas Carol,”  beginning Monday, July 13. The favorite yuletide tale by Charles Dickens, including the carols everyone knows and loves, brings Christmas in July to Plymouth. PBT workshop registration open for ‘Crazytown’

Registration is open for Priscilla Beach Theatre’s next summer workshop, “CRAZYTOWN,” by Jonathan Rand, for ages 13 and up. Take a madcap tour of the most messed up town in America in this exploration into comedy. This special teen workshop is designed to give older students more advanced coaching, direction, comedy experience and additional stage time. Rehearsals for CRAZYTOWN begin June 29 and run through July 9, with performances on July 10, 11, 17, 18. The workshop is $300 per student. Continue Reading →

Art on the Green this Saturday at the Pinehills

Art on the Green – an art exhibit and market featuring 100  local and regional artists showcasing their paintings, wood and glass art, photography, sculptures, eclectic jewelry, wearable art returns to the The Village Green at The Pinehills on June 20. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will also feature live steel drum music and food from The Market, Mamma Mia’s,  East Bay Grille at The Pinehills  Golf Club and the Mirbeau Inn and Spa. Tickets on sale for ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ at Priscilla Beach Theatre

Tickets are on sale now for “Fiddler on the Roof,” July 10-25 at Priscilla Beach Theatre. “Fiddler on the Roof,” with book by Joseph Stein, lyrics by Sheldon Harrick and music by Jerry Bock, opens the inaugural season back on PBT’s historic barn stage. Beloved by audiences for more than 50 years, the show includes iconic songs such as “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Matchmaker” and “Miracle of Miracles.” The Tony Award winning musical is directed by Ron Fassler, featuring Michael Bernardi as Tevye, with a cast of actors from Los Angeles, New York and Boston. These are open audition and actors must be at least 18 years of age. Actors should come prepared to sing 32 measures of a song from the show or in its style. An accompanist will be provided. ‘The Fantasticks’ opens June 5 at the Priscilla Beach Theatre

Priscilla Beach Theatre proudly presents the romantic comedy musical, “The Fantasticks,” June 5-14 in the GMo Black Box Theatre at PBT, 800 Rocky Hill Road, Plymouth. ‘Why Do Fools Fall in Love?” at the Priscilla Beach Theatre

Priscilla Beach Theatre brings back the delightfully funny and nostalgic musical, Why Do Fools Fall in Love? by Roger Bean, May 1, 2, 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m., and May 3 and 10 at 2:00 p.m.

The story opens as Millie’s best friends decide to throw an impromptu bachelorette party for her. As the party picks up steam, the ladies share stories and some important secrets. Eventually, the would-be bride admits that her fiancé is nowhere to be found! This rockin’ musical includes some favorite pop-hits from the 1960s such as “I Will Follow Him,” “Hurt So Bad,” “Hey There Lonely Boy,” and of course the smash hit “Why Do Fools Fall in Love?”

Draw nature at the Emery West Preserve

Botanical artist Tricia Cassady, will lead a in nature art journaling at Emery Preserve West on April 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. No prior art knowledge or experience is needed. A charge of $10 for nonmembers includes an art journal and helps cover the cost of art supplies provided. Wildlands Trust members attend for free. Classic Broadway musicals return to Priscilla Beach Theatre’s barn this summer

In celebration of the inaugural season back on its historic main stage this summer, Priscilla Beach Theatre  will present the Tony Award winning  musicals “Chicago” and “Fiddler On The Roof.” Broadway and Hollywood actor, writer, and director and PBT alum Ron Fassler, returns as director of “Fiddler On The Roof.”  
Winner of  nine Tony Awards,  “Fiddler On The Roof” will be on the PBT stage from July 10-25, Following that, from August 7-22, will be “Chicago,” the second-longest running show in Broadway history and the 1997 winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival. Owner and producer Bob Malone is excited to spread the news about the barn renovation and the upcoming season. “Our beautifully restored barn will be up and running this summer so we are excited to present two big hits,” says Malone. Simes House novel author at Manomet Branch

Taylor Nash, author of “Wicked Moon,” a romantic suspense novel with paranormal undertones set at the Simes House and all around Plymouth, will be at the Manomet Branch Library, 12 Strand Avenue, Saturday, October 25 from 2:30  to 4 p.m.

Say Geronimo to the Ice Bucket Challenge

Geronimo Sands, starring in Priscilla Beach Theatre’s production of  “Tuesdays with Morrie,” accepted the ALS ice bucket challenge with the help of his co-star, Cliff Blake. Sands plays former Brandeis professor Morrie Schwartz, who is suffering from ALS when his former student, Mitch Albom, played by Blake, returns for a final lesson on the meaning of life.
