Break-in suspect remains at large following helicopter search

Police continue to search for a Plymouth man who allegedly broke into a Pinehills apartment late Saturday night and then stole a car, Sunday.

According to Captain John Rogers, the 33-year-old man allegedly gained access into his girlfriend’s residence on Merchants Row via a key he found hidden. The woman arrived and told him she was going to call the police, Rogers said. He then fled into the woods, Rogers said. The suspect allegedly had been doing drugs in the apartment. Police reportedly found hypodermic needles there, he added.

Police, aided by a State Police helicopter, searched for him until 2 a.m., Sunday. That afternoon, he allegedly stole her car after forcibly breaking into to the residence and stealing her car keys Rogers said. The car was later found downtown.
