Winter storm warning issued for Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a  winter storm warning from early Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon for most of southeastern Massachusetts.

Heavy snow, strong winds, and reduced visibility with snow accumulation of between 8 and than 12 inches is possible along with significant blowing and drifting of snow. The snow is expected to begin between 5 and 7 a.m. It may tun to sleet by the afternoon.

The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to blowing snow, reduced visibility, and additional power

outages.
