Audio-Technica is already preparing for the new winter season and for that they have announced the launch of the ATH-S220BT, a wireless headset that is apparently interesting which promises to integrate the good know-how of the brand with an affordable price and features that point to higher ranges.
With a supraural design with a wide padded headband and a plastic main structure to reduce the weight of the device to 180 grams, the headsets have a closed speaker and a sleek exterior design available in white, black and blue.
Inside the horns, also padded, are 40 mm transducers capable of achieving a frequency response between 5 Hz and 32 KHz under a sensitivity of 105 dB / mW and an impedance of 32 ohms.
We can use them well thanks to a Bluetooth 5.0 link with an autonomy of up to 60 hours of continuous operation which is recharged by means of a USB-C cable or the USB-A to USB-C adapter supplied in the packaging. But it is also possible to use them directly by connecting an included 1.2 meter cable to its 3.5 mm jack port.
The headphones have a built-in omnidirectional microphone with wider than average frequency response, covering the range from 50Hz to 4KHz and which we can use to answer mobile voice calls, controlling both music reproduction and the microphone from the physical buttons located on the right wing.
The ATH-S220BT are compatible with the Fast Pair function so that they can be connected to an Android terminal only by bringing the equipment together, and with Multipoint Pairing, which allows them to pair with several devices at the same time (for example a phone and a PC) without having to disconnect it each time you want to use one or the other. They will also be compatible with Google Assistant and Siri.
Pricing and availability
The ATH-S220BT helmet will go on sale on September 10 on the manufacturer’s website at a price of 69 euros.
