The Argentinian Ministry of Health has opened a public tender for the purchase of materials including 10,000 polished wooden penises for use in health and sexually transmitted disease prevention campaigns. Purchase of the products, which also include condom cases and dispensers, has been authorized for an estimated 13 million pesos, or approximately R $ 690,000.

The Secretary of the Argentine Government for Access to Health, Sandra Marcelo Tirado, indicated in a resolution, dated June 24, that the purchase of supplies “will ensure a wide availability of promotional material whose aim is to raise awareness and prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. like HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, ”La Nación reported.

Details of the purchase appear on the Argentinian Public Procurement Portal. According to the data, this involves the acquisition of 10,000 cases of propylene turquoise; 10,000 condom distributors; and 10,000 units of polished wood dildos.
