Apple has just released the first information we have about the second season of the Foundation series. Information that, no doubt, leaves more questions in the air than it answers, since it is limited to a suggestive image of Hari Sheldon facing the Emperor and a list of new characters that the will soon appear in the series.
A sensational cast for a highly anticipated second season
The Apple TV+ series, based on the novels by Isaac Asimov, is thus preparing for its second season. A season of which we know very little at the moment beyond the fact that it jumps a little over 100 years compared to the first season. Due to the time jump, it makes sense that there would be a cast change, which Apple gave us details on.
Isabella Laughland as “Brother Constant”, a cheerful and confident nun whose job it is to spread the message of the Church of the Galactic Spirit. Constant is a true believer, full of courage and passion. Kulvinder Ghir as ‘Poly Verisof’, a high-ranking cleric in the Church of the Galactic Spirit. Clever and sardonic, he’s a terrible drunk: smart enough to see where he’s headed, but too cynical to change him. Sandra Yi Sencindiver as “Enjoiner Rue”, Queen Sareth’s beautiful, policy-savvy adviser. Rue, former courtesan of Cléon 16, takes advantage of her status to become a royal adviser. Ella-Rae Smith as “Queen Sareth”. Accustomed to being underestimated, Sareth takes advantage of this, using her charm to join the Imperial Palace with wit and acerbity, while carrying out a secret mission of revenge. Dimitri Leonidas as “Hober Mallow”, a skilled merchant with a sarcastic personality and questionable morals, who is summoned against his will to serve a higher charitable cause. Ben Daniels as “Bel Roise”, the last great general of the superliminal fleet and an aspiring conqueror of the Foundation. Bel is extremely noble, but his loyalty to the Galactic Empire is not at its best. Holt McCallany as ‘Guardian Jaegger Fount’, Terminus’ current protector and guardian of its citizens from outside threats. Mikael Persbrandt as “The Warlord of Kalgan”, a monstrous man who is all brawn and possesses intense psychic abilities, fueled by hatred in his quest to conquer the galaxy. Rachel House as “Tellem Bond”, the mysterious leader of the Mentalics. Nimrat Kaur as “Yanna Seldon”.
Without a doubt, a high-level cast for one of the biggest Apple TV+ productions. A series of which this second season will arrive “soon”, although we could well speak of the month of September or October, announcing with the necessary attention the launch of new devices.
While waiting for a trailer that can tell us more about the focus of this second season, we can, for now, be interested in the new characters who seem to be starting to draw conclusions. Conclusions that, unless we have recourse to psychohistory, we will have to wait a little longer to be able to confirm.
