Alleged Cape Cod trespassers arrested at Pilgrim Station

Regardless of one’s opinion of the place, few people think of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station as a tourist attraction.

But that’s the reason an elderly couple from Falmouth gave for attempting to enter the plant, Monday afternoon.

According to Captain John Rogers, the pair, a 67-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman, reportedly drove their car through the main entrance gate and past other security barriers. They allegedly attempted to walk into the front entrance building where they were met by security.

They claimed they wanted a tour of the facility, Rogers said. He doesn’t know if they have any affiliation with groups opposed to the operation of the plant.

The pair, who share the same address, were charged with trespassing and released on bail.
