Ahmed Masood, a so-called Panjshir shareholder who has never surrendered to the Taliban, has refused to surrender to the Taliban in areas under his control and has declared war. On the other hand, General Bismillah Mohammadi, the Defense Minister of Afghanistan’s government-in-exile, has announced to provide security to Panjshir.
Ahmed Masood, son of Ahmed Shah Masood, the hero of the Afghan war against Russia in the 1980s, has refused to surrender to the Taliban. According to a report by Dubai-based Al Arabiya TV, Masood said the war against the Taliban would continue in the Panjshir area under his control. Former Afghanistan Defense Minister Bismillah Mohammadi has also declared war on the Taliban, saying the Panjshir Valley will continue to oppose the Taliban. This war will continue in the valley. Mohammadi made this statement at a time when the Taliban have captured almost all of Afghanistan except Panjshir.
Afghan army ready to face Taliban in Panjshir. Conquering the Panjshir Valley is still the biggest challenge for the Taliban. Panjshir Valley is only 150 km away from Kabul. Despite being far away, the Taliban could not capture it. There are more than 10,000 fighters ready to fight the Taliban. Former Vice President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh is also currently in Panjshir. Apart from this, the army of the so-called War Lord General Abdul Rashid Dostum of Afghanistan is also in Panjshir.
