The Afghan army took action against Taliban militants in the northern provinces. Air strikes in these areas killed 21 terrorists. According to figures released by the Afghan government, 4,000 Taliban militants have been killed in the past four months.
An Afghan military spokesman said there had been airstrikes on Taliban militants in the northern provinces. Air strikes were carried out in places like Jawajjan, Murgab, Hasanantbeen, in which 21 terrorists were killed. 10 terrorists were injured. The Afghan army claims that over 15 terrorists have been killed and over 100 seriously injured in the past two days.
Meanwhile, 4,000 Taliban militants have been killed in the past four months alone, according to the Afghan government’s Violence Monitoring Department. An estimated 5,000 to 7,000 Taliban fighters have been killed in airstrikes by Afghan and US forces. During April–July, the Taliban conducted 5,000 small and large-scale attacks in Afghanistan, killing 5,000 Afghan civilians.
Afghan government official Syed Abdullah Hashmi said 10,000 foreigners were among the Taliban militants in the country. His gesture was towards Pakistan. Addressing the Taliban, the Afghan Vice President said that the Taliban should stop terrorizing Afghanistan and call for a ceasefire. If the Taliban does so, the proposal to release their captives will be discussed on constitutional grounds.
