A Manomet woman is under arrest on a single charge of manufacturing methamphetamine after a search of her State Road apartment Sunday afternoon.
According to Chief Michael Botieri, police received information from a tenant who believed something suspicious was happening in a neighboring unit over a period of time. Police allegedly found tubes, drums, instruments and chemicals in a trash bin behind the building as well as in one the apartments. Botieri said the items were consistent with methamphetamine production.
Kerri Mahoney, 38 of State Road was arrested at a Lakeville campground and charged with manufacture of a class B substance. Bail was set at $7,500
Residents of the four-bedroom apartment house located near St. Bonaventure Church were briefly evacuated as state hazmat and bomb squad teams searched the building. State police and federal DEA agents assisted in the search.
Police are continuing the investigate, Botieri said.
